Volunteers

Many people are attracted to Scouting in their youth, or come to it later in life as a parent.

They want to help, but find the commitment either of attending weekly events, or becoming Warranted, too much of a strain on their lives.

This pool of talent has been harnessed in the Greenmount Scout Group by the formation of:

Now boasting over 20 members, it is made up of people who are past Leaders, are parents (of boys present and past) and some who just want to volunteer to do something great in their community.

The Greenmount Group Scout Fellowship (rebranded Scout Active Support) started on Friday, 2nd March 2001 with no real agenda or plan. The initial ideas were:
• To provide assistance to Beaver, Cub, Scout or Venture Scout Leaders when asked
• To suggest ideas which each section could take up if they so desire
• To help with the Annual Bonfire and B-B-Q
• To assist with the general running of the Group

We prepare young people with skills for life

Whether you can spare an hour a month or a day a year, we have hundreds of opportunities both behind the scenes and directly supporting young people.

With full support and award winning training, you can volunteer on a flexible basis. Not only is it incredibly rewarding and great fun, you’ll learn some brilliant skills transferable to the workplace too.

We welcome volunteers from every community and background. You don’t need to have been a Scout. You just need to believe in a more positive future and the difference we can make together.
